Biography of Roderick Klein

Well here is my introduction (at which I'm never that good :-) ). So who am I and what can I do for Voice ? I'm Roderick Klein (pron. 'klain') and in March I just became 25 years old.

So the question is where did I roll into OS/2 ?

Just before Windows 95 came I got hold of a Warp 3 demo CD and I looked at it... I also just started using computers and did not know much about them.....

I tried to install Warp 3 on a machine with 4096 KB of memory... Sadly the BIOS was using 384 KB (logical :-) ) and this resulted in traps.... Impatient as I was, I did not read the manual and was thinking that product sucks...

I ran Windows 3.1 for a short time but also started scanning pictures and this kept locking up my system....

After a short time I got 8 MB, and read the manual again, and installed the demo..... I was hooked!!!! I was able to get a Warp 3 and then moved on to Warp 4, and I got sucked further and further into OS/2....

In 1996 I started on 4 year computer study (Dutch MTS, Dutch intermediate technical school). During that in total 12 months I had to work at a two companies (6 months at each company) as part of my study....

I asked if I could get a job at. as part of my study at... Mensys. After I finished my study I started working at Mensys and still work there today, working on eComStation.

A couple of years back I also became a member of the Dutch OS/2 user group and I'm not a member on the board, but have a special membership, no voting rights however....

What can I do for Voice ? Well I have an outstanding knowledge of OS/2, don't know everything of course....I for instance made a candy dispenser running on OS/2 as an end project for my 4 year study.... Not perfectly done to say the least but it was in C++.

I have already been active in local youth council of the city where I live as a member for the Dutch Labour party (that's now the second biggest party in parliament in the Netherlands). So I think I have quite some experience in debating.

Also my oral English I think is sufficient enough, I have given a presentation at Warpstock US 2002 in Austin. So a phone call is no trouble for me. But since I will have to write a lot of English, this is in a good shape.
