Sorry for the spam, but I really believe this deserves some attention...
There are only a few days left in which to participate in the Warpstock
2004 post event poll. For us to get an adequate gauge of what's been
right, wrong, or just needs changing, it is imperative that we get as
many responses as possible. From the initial poll announcement:
The Board of Directors of Warpstock, Inc. would appreciate feedback on
how you feel we have done putting on Warpstock in North America. We want
to hear from you whether or not you attended Warpstock 2004 or previous
Warpstock events.
If you came to Warpstock in October, was there anything you particularly
liked or disliked about the event? If you did not attend, was there
anything we could have done to change your mind? We want to know so we
can plan for an even better event in 2005 -- and beyond.
Please take a few minutes and tell us what you think by answering our
post-Warpstock poll before December 15, 2004 at
http://www.warpstock.org/cgi-bin/vpp1.cmd?pollname=postws2004
In the near future, we will follow this poll up with at least one more to
obtain more specific data related to organizing the next event.
If you want to find out more about Warpstock please visit our web site
http://www.warpstock.org where you will find information about our
organization and the past eight Warpstock events.
If you would like to keep informed on Warpstock progress via a periodic
newsletter, please subscribe to the Warpstock eNewsletter. To subscribe to
the Warpstock eNewsletter send the following message in the body of an
email to majormajor@os2voice.org

end
Please pass this on to any other OS/2 users or OS/2 related forums as we
want to hear from as many people as possible.

Hi all,
I am pleased to announce availability of NVU 0.60, compiled for OS/2,
from the builds webpage in my signature (you may have to explicitely
reload the frame to get the new content). NVU (pronounced N-view) is the
next generation Mozilla webpage composer, developed mainly by Daniel
Glazman.
Tell me (mozilla at weilbacher.org) if you see problems on OS/2
especially if you do not see them on another platform. And take a look at
the file ReadMe.OS2. Have fun with the new version!
[ I hope the German translation is coming in the next days from Thorsten
Fritz, keep an eye on <http://www.mozilla.nightrat.net/nvu/>. ]
Changelog from 0.50 to 0.60 (from
http://www.nvu.com/download.html):
* still based on Mozilla 1.7.1
* rulers completely rewritten to fix big bugs and allow simulation
of vertical text in the vertical ruler
* Site Manager completely rewritten to allow editing of more than one
site at the same time and fix a lot of bugs
* Site Manager can now display the system's default icon on Windows and
linux (KDE only for the moment)
* Hiding and showing again the site manager now preserves its contents
* dragging an image from a linux file browser and dropping it onto Nvu's
editing area now inserts the image into the document. Other files
generate a link. In the past, only the text "file://..." corresponding
to the url of the object was inserted into the document
* too many bug fixes to list them all
Known Issues
* internal links to the help viewer don't work well and often launch an
external browser
* the -edit command line option still does not work correctly. v0.7
should be based on Firefox 1.0, that will solve this problem.

From http://www.rexxla.org
"After several months of negotiations between RexxLA and IBM, IBM has
agreed to further their commitment to Open Source, by releasing Object
REXX to the Open Source community. As a result, RexxLA will continue to
manage Object REXX as an Open Source project, and IBM will be withdrawing
Object REXX from their product range.
The joint press release on Open Object Rexx was made on November 29th,
2004." http://www.rexxla.org/Newsletter/oorexx-pr.html and
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/obj-rexx/opensource.html
"IBM and the Rexx Language Association (RexxLA) today announced that IBM
is contributing source code of the Object REXX Interpreter Edition to the
RexxLA. The source code for Object REXX for Microsoft Windows , AIX ,
Linux , and SUN Solaris will henceforth be available from RexxLA
(http://www.rexxla.org) under Common Public License (CPL) V1.0."
Note no mention of OS/2. No idea if this is deliberate or just forgotten.
