eBayWatch/2 Ver 1.09f
Hello All,
eBayWatch/2 is an auction management tool for OS/2 users. It works solely
with the eBay auction site. It is meant to aid the user in searching for,
monitoring and bidding on auction items. eBayWatch/2 is copyright
freeware.
Required -
1) partition with long filename support (hpfs/jfs)
2) rexxutil.dll and rxsock.dll in libpath
3) must start from its work directory, or a program object which sets the
work directory
I have uploaded ver 1.09f to - http://www.eclipse.net/~knkrchnr
From the readme -
- New: Added "Archive" option for auction data
(I probably should have mentioned that the option will only start after
the program has been restarted with the new settings. You might want
to
backup your ebay.dat and data\* directories first)
- eBay changes broke bidding ability
- eBay changes broke search results page
- New: Added "Save" button to AutoBid window. Writes to "AutoBid.Txt"
- Change: Bid group headers remain until you have won desired quantity
- Change: Bid group items now remain until the last auction has closed
- Fix: Bid group updates not working where UserID is Mixed Case
- Fix: Auto delete code not deleting expired auctions
- Change: Load/sort of "Closed items" page delayed and priority changed
- Change: Auto Refresh thread changed to "Idle" class
- Fix: eBay changed bid confirmation on Dutch Auctions
- Change: Allow multi-select for item refresh
- Fix: Context menu items not set properly when multi-select used
- Fix: missed change in search page that broke "Show as Local" in results
(well, this one is now useless since eBay has changed to "Time Left")
As always, if you find anything strange or broken, please let me know. In
this one I'm also interested in help screens which are missing or wrong
since program operation has been changing.
Thanks,
Ken
Warpstock 2002 Must See presentations
At Warpstock 2002 in Austin Texas you can see with your own eyes what many
have only heard about. Sorry for the length of this post, but the
Warpstock weekend will be packed with exciting things to see and hear
about OS/2 and eComStation. Some of the great things expected at our show
this year include:
- Bob St. John of Serenity Systems will be telling us what to expect in
eComStation 1.1. In addition they will be giving away copies of the 1.1
beta.
- Greg Shah of Golden Code Development will be presenting the recently
announced OS/2 port of the Java 2 Standard Edition ("J2SE") platform,
release 1.4, as well as the ongoing development and support for the the
Mozilla Web Browser under OS/2.
- Greg Shah of Golden Code will be demonstrating a new product called
SESAME. This product is the most complete security system ever created for
OS/2. It turns OS/2 into a true multi-user system from both a local and
remote access perspective.
- Brian Smith of F/X Communications, will present the new features of the
InJoy Firewall and Dialer with an emphasis on crossplatform operability.
Demonstrating platform independent management and serving using clients
and servers of varying systems, including OS/2, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows
and MacOS. As well demonstrating some of the new tunnelling and
firewalling functionality, using the new GUI.
- Kendall Bennett of SciTech Software will be showing off Snap Graphics
for OS/2 2.0.
- Connectix will be presenting VirtualPC 5.0 and will have a special show
price as well.
- Richard R. Spurlock & William F. Kershner of Starfire Engineering &
Technologies, Inc. will discuss their "Titan Single Logon" package.
- Jan Van Wijk will be showing off his latest version of Display File
Systems (DFSee), a generic partition and filesystem browser/analyser.
DFSee supports partition-tables (FDISK, LVM), (V)FAT, FAT-32,
HPFS-structures, some NTFS and JFS stuff and it might support different
file-systems like EXT2 in the future. This presentation will be an
introduction to DFSee : a demonstration of the product's main features,
some usage examples and finally a Q&A session.
- Netlabs will be showing Lookout/2, HW Overlay and much more.
So be sure to come to Warpstock 2002 for the chance to be one of the first
to learn the latest information about OS/2 and eComstation. This year,
Warpstock is taking place in the home of OS/2 development. Warpstock will
take place the weekend of October 5-6, 2002 in Austin, Texas at the
Renaissance Austin Hotel. You can find the complete presentation schedule
as well as event registration and hotel reservation information at our web
site: http://www.warpstock.org
Warpstock, Inc., is a North Carolina corporation. The Warpstock annual
conference is a gathering of OS/2 users, developers, and vendors from
around the world for the purpose of education and advocacy.

Mozilla 1.2a
What's New in Mozilla 1.2a
* Type Ahead Find is a new feature that allows quick navigation when
you type a succession of characters in the browser, matching the text in
one or more links on the page. To give it a spin just go to a web page,
start typing and hit enter to load the selected link. You can also use it
to search for any text on the page by typing / before your search text.
Read the full Type Ahead Find documentation to learn about all of its
features, prefs and future plans. The feature is not yet working on Mac
but we expect to have that fixed by 1.2beta.
* Selection of text in message headers has been partially implemented.
* Drag and drop from the message search results window is new.
* One of the most frequently reported bugs, "long strings in mail or
news header cause scroll bars and attachment window to disappear, making
message unreadable" has been fixed. (Bug 91662)
* Preliminary XML prettyprinting, similar to IEs default-view for XML
is now available. In this release the feature does not work in
installer-builds you need to get a .zip distribution. However since the
feature for now affects the DOM for unstyled XML-pages it is disabled by
default. To enable it, add user_pref("layout.xml.prettyprint", true); to
your user.js. (Bug 64945)
* On Windows you can now add multiple attachments to a mail message
via the Attach File dialog. (Bug 121122)
* Major improvements to Mac OS X IMAP mail header download
performance. Preliminary tests show about 2000% improvement.
* Text zoom now applies to framed pages.
* Keyboard access is greatly improved including additional accesskeys
for menus, other ui elements and page elements.
And (not mentioned on the official site) OS/2 has now an own installer.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.2a/
BTW. At a first glance it seems more stable than Mozilla 1.1 final .

Ghostscript 7.30 developer release
A new developer release of the well known postscript and pdf interpreter
has been released for OS/2 too.
The major new code here is the DeviceN implementation, recently merged in
to the main development tree. People interested in DeviceN should take a
look and help iron out the remaining issues.
Please keep in mind: Ghostscript is currently the only way to view and
produce PDF -files on OS/2. So having a bug-fixed OS/2 version should be
of vital interest to any OS/2 user.

Warp-Compatible Printer Deal
There aren't too many left, and it's a heck of a good deal.
If you're looking for a 12 page per minute Warp-compatible laser printer,
the Brother HL-1250 is available from Computers4Sure. (The HL-1250 is
explicitly supported by recent versions of the OS/2 Warp LaserJet driver,
which you can find on IBM's OS/2 Device Driver Pak On-Line web site.)
Includes both USB and parallel port connections.
The final cost (after coupon) is $184, plus $21.10 shipping.
The web site for this laser printer is:
http://www.computers4sure.com/product.asp?productid=1219193
The printer is listed at $199. Add a piece of CD-R media or some other
low cost item to hit $200. Then use coupon code LSC851 at checkout to
knock $15 off the total price.
I have no affiliation with Computers4Sure or Brother.

issues in VDMs to further enhance compatibility. It contains plenty
of fixes and some of them are user-controlable via Properties. The 2nd fix will remove a crash in Win3.11 under eCS v1.02/MCP-2, because
IBM fixed a bug that was not intended to get fixed, so actually producing
