The OS/2 SIG of the Philadelphia Area Computer Society invites all interested
computer users to attend the January meeting:

.. -- ALL ABOUT NEW AND FORTHCOMING TECHNOLOGY --
A most interesting presentation has been planned for the first meeting of the
new year. SIG member David Moskowitz will conduct a presentation of several new
and forthcoming technologies, and the impact therefrom upon our lives.
- IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY:
Everything (or almost everything) we should all know about the impact of new
and forthcoming technology on our lives: in regard to computing as well as other
related issues.
- KEY ISSUES:
What are the new technologies? What must we pay special attention to? How will
they affect us all and all platforms?
- TIME FRAMES:
What's coming in both the near term and the long term.
- SOME EXAMPLES:
Persistent internet connections; Technology convergence; Instant messaging; Plasma
displays; Memory; Mass storage
Other agenda items include SIG business matters, OS/2 news, new software releases,
Q&A session ~raffles. An OS/2 system will be on hand for demos of OS/2, Java,
Internet, etc. as time permits. Free light refreshments will be available. Larry
will also discuss the contents and related issues of the IBM Software Choice MCP
package he recently received.
Mark the date and time: Wednesday, January 24th, at 7:00pm, to hear about all
the new and exciting developments, or if you have questions about OS/2 Warp and
Java. OS/2 SIG meetings are open and free for OS/2 users, their guests and all others
interested in learning about OS/2 and associated Java technology.

Subject: OS/2 Meeting at Mexico City
We are happy to announce the first (constitutional) meeting of Mexican OS/2 User
Group.
Our objective is to organize continuos OS/2-related activities, that would gather
Mexican OS/2 users together, and help further promote OS/2 in Mexico.
Among the topics we plan to discuss during this semester are: eComStation, OS/2
networking, various technical/programming issues, and WiseManager.
The meeting will take place at the Institute of Mathematics of National Autonomous
University of Mexico (UNAM, City University in Mexico City), office 307, on Friday,
January 19, 6pm.
