dbf2mysql Updated
I've uploaded dbf2mysql063.zip to hobbes.
Converts .DBF (dBase/Clipper) files to mysql script. It supports memo fields,
great for batch processes. dbf2mysql063 is100% free.
It is currently in /pub/incoming, later in /pub/os2/apps/database

New unzip
It is on Hobbes under the name 'uzs542x2.exe'. This is the 32-bit OS/2 executable
package.
Currently:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/uzs542x2.exe
Once processed:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/archiver/uzs542x2.exe
Also, the REXX scripts "zip2exe.cmd" and "zipgrep.cmd" have
been converted to CR-LF format so they now work properly.
Many archives, especially those originating from IBM, still contain files which
are compressed with "Shrink". (The Feature Installer, FIRUNPKG.ZIP, is
a good example of this.) The standard InfoZip UNZIP binaries, later than version
5.31, cannot handle them. This build can.
We have updated the PillarSoft website with downloads of the new version of WarpZip
v3.2 and Enhanced E v1.4.
After adding RAR, ARJ, LZH, TGZ, and GZ support in a previous version, we are
working on adding support for viewing WPI (WarpIn Installer) archives. At this time
WarpZip will list the achive contents and you may extract them but there is no support
for viewing individual files at this time.
The Enhanced E has an additional setting in this version offering auto-indent
to it's list of tools. If you have downloaded the Enhanced E before this announcement,
you may wish to download it again. There have been tweeks to the auto-indent code
from the previous drop.
We won't go into the feature lists here but invite you to take a look at our
website for more information. As has been the case from their first release... there
is no charge for either update.
The PillarSoft Suite has also been updated with the new versions and can be downloaded
from our website.
WarpZip is $29, the Enhanced E is $25. The PillarSoft Suite has these two programs
and 11 more for only $99 during our continuing special.

IBM's OS/2 Device Driver site DDPakOnline has been changed to a Lotus Domino
server and the old URL ( http://service.software.ibm.com/os2ddpak/html/index.htm
) nolonger works. They of course don't bother to redirect you to the new URL which
is:
http://service.software.ibm.com/os2ddpak
If you have old http links to specific driver pages (for instance the IDEDASD
>8G drivers) they no longer work either. There also is nolonger an alphabetic
or date sorted list of all device drivers at the site. Now it is just by Category
and by Company. Some of the links marked as New or Updated don't work. and now a
lot of the links (like the USB drivers) point to Software Choice where a subscription
is required. Also when you click to expand the links after paging down, the new
page starts back at the top again, so you have to page down again.

J&J Computer Consulting (JJCC) has released Shepherd v1.1.0 Beta for OS/2,
Windows NT, and Linux. Shepherd is a TCP/IP server framework with support for SMTP,
POP3, FTP, j-Chat, and remote administration.
"Have you Ever looked at an NT or OS/2 Internet Server's thread and memory
usage and wondered why running just a few services takes so much computing power?
Are you getting tired of updating user, group, access control, and file permissions
on multiple pieces of software across multiple operating systems?
Do you want simple, effective remote management of all of your servers from a
single workstation and a single piece of software?
Are you tired of managing logs from every corner of your IT infrastructure?
Getting tired of reboots?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need Shepherd."

Alek Winner has released an Answering machine for the USR Courier Modems. Unfortunatly
most of the discription is in cyrillic letters and in Russian. But you may give
it a try

The new version (0.6.0) of PMDC is out. This is a major release. This means that
many of the programming bugs are fixed. The main new feature in this version is
(finally!) a handbook in INF format.
This version is compiled with VAC++ 4.0, now with FixPak 1 applied. There are
several changes and fixes, including a fix for the annoying "More downloads
than selected by user" problem that appeared on 0.5.9 version.
The weird behaviour of the main windows (not alowing ALT-F7 for move, per example)
is now fixed. The window behaviour now should be the same as any other window.
A Download log was created on this version, so you'll have a list of your sucessfully
downloaded files.
I hope you all like it.

Daniel Caetano
