The new version implements support for user-defined status bitmaps,
enhances handling of DHCP and fixes an error caused by SciTech Snap with
WarpOverlay installed.
This program is available both as a XCenter Widget as well as a standalone
program and is the successor of the older WifiState application of Jens
Glathe (being part of some Wireless LAN driver packages) as well as the
experimental XCenter Widget of Markus Montkowski of Warpstock Europe 2002.

A new FAT32 driver for eCS and OS/2 now referred to as 0.9.10 has been
uploaded to Netlabs.
Version 0.9.10:
-Changed version numbering style to major.minor.patch level style.
-Removed beta symbol.
-Ejection of removable media caused a dirty flag on removable drive.
Fixed.
-Problem of driver trying to read from marked bad sectors on drives.

-Trap with RM. Fixed
-Filename including NLS characters not converted to unicode by OS/2,
Caused 'lost cluster' problem. fixed.
-Added IOCTL function to write in sector mode.
As always, if replacing an earlier version of the FAT32 driver (0.96 and
earlier)with this one, be sure and run chkdsk on each FAT32 partitons.
If this is your first time to use the FAT32 driver, again run chkdsk after
installation and a reboot.

It is time for another Update Mailing for the OS/2 and eComStation
Developers Workshop 2005. As a reminder, the Developers Workshop 2005 will
be held on July 9th and 10th in Dresden, Germany.
Developers from the Ukraine:
We are currently working on the VISA for two developers from the Ukraine.
Thanks to your contributions through sponsor units we hope to have enough
money to invite two developers from to Ukraine to the Developers Workshop.
If all goes well, both will give a presentation on their work for OS/2
applications and drivers. If you plan to contribute via sponsor units, you
can purchase them in the Mensys online shop.
Reserve your hotel rooms:
Hotel rooms in Dresden for this particular weekend can be scarce! There
are a couple of other events on this weekend so if you already know that
you are attending the Workshop, please consider reserving the rooms as
soon as possible. There should not be problems with finding four or five
star hotel rooms, but cheaper accommodation could be in short supply. A
couple of links to hotel booking websites have been added to the Workshop
homepage to assist you with your planing. If you have trouble finding a

One new session has been added to the presentation list. Vladyslav
Stelmakhovskyy will talk about supporting USB WebCams in OS/2. We are

Send your posters:
Posters are a great way to inform people about your work or your project!
If you are developing an application or driver for OS/2 or eComStation or
if you are maintaining a website that is related to a development project,
please consider creating a poster for the Workshop. A poster is simply a
very large paper, for example in the A1 to A3 format, that contains an
overview about a project. While it may not be the ideal tool, OpenOffice
could be used to create posters! A poster should include the following
information:
- a short history of the project and a description
- the current state
- some links to web pages or contact information of the author
- some ideas about how other developers could participate
- anything else that you think is important or interesting
You may also update the posters for later OS/2 events like Warpstock or
Warpstock Europe! If you cannot attend the Workshop, but would like to
present your project to the community we can make this happen! Here is the
deal:
Send us an eMail and let us know that you think about preparing a poster.
Then send us your poster no later then July 4th. Please use PDF, PS, TIFF
or any other ready-to-print format! (no SXW, no PAP, no LWP!!) The
Workshop team will print the posters in Dresden and present them at the
Workshop. There is no cost for you, except the time that you need to
create the poster! Of course, we will also make the posters available via
the Workshop homepage. This guarantees that a wider audience can have a
look at the them!

Just as a reminder, the Workshop team would appreciate it if you would
register for the Workshop as early as possible. You can purchase your

of version 2.0.0 of the Free Pascal Compiler. This is the new stable
version of the compiler and is the first stable release of the development
branch of the compiler started back in 2000. OSNews

Versions numbered 1.0.X and 1.9.Y are now considered obsolete and will no
longer be maintained.
What is Free Pascal ?

Free Pascal is a compiler for 32-bit and 64-bit CPU architectures such as
Intel 32/64 bit, AMD 32/64 bit, SPARC, PowerPC and Intel ARM. It is
language compatible to Turbo Pascal, Delphi (till version 7), and partly
Metrowerks Pascal. It supports many operating systems: Dos, Linux,

Version 0.4.0 of OpenTTD, a free open source game similar to Chris
Sawyer's "Transport Tycoon Deluxe", has been released! This version has
many new features, including larger maps (up to 2048x2048!), an
'unlimited' number of towns, industries, stations, etc, heavily improved
and protected network play, a new, smart pathfinder, multiple bus stops
per station, and many, many bug fixes.
The fully-featured OS/2 version uses SDL and can be found at SourceForge:
