DFSee version 4.02 released
For those of you that don't know DFSee yet, it is an FDISK-like, display,
analysis and recovery tool for disks and filesystems.
DFSee is a command-line and text-only utility (no GUI).
This allows usage from simple boot-diskettes for recovery.
The package includes an OS/2, Win-NT and DOS version.
DFSee can be downloaded from my web-site, but after evaluation, and for
all real use you are required to get a registration. It can be purchased
from the Mensys online shop for about US $18.
Details can be found at: http://www.fsys.demon.nl/dfsee.htm
Version 4.02 updates and fixes:
- New argv/option parser used (recover -u -8.3 -q ...)
- Better scaling in FAT alloc display; show last-used cluster - Fixed
find-free BMPRIMARY entry causing create to fail - Fixed HPFS 'fixboot'
with wrong superblock contents
- Fixed NTFS 'findroot' when start is no MFT record
- Read-failure msg on OpenDisk (error 31)
- Fixed HPFS delfind for invalid parent Fnode
Registering DFSee will give you the right to use all 4.xx versions and get
support plus a reasonable amount of assistance by email.
But even more important, it enables further development of DFSee!
Regards, Jan van Wijk
PS:
I will be on a vacation until the 15th of september, so email will not be
answered until then ...
The good news: I will have some time to work on DFSee too :-)

IBM TCP/IP for DOS Stack Unleashed
Hi!
Some weeks ago, I reported, that I had "hacked" myself into the low-level
interface of the TCP/IP for DOS stack. Today I discovered "AsyncSelect"
some CallBack Handler mechanism. Now, I have full control over the whole
TCP/IP stack and it's running pretty well.
Last time, several people contacted me and wanted details, but never did
anything for it. Someone said, he could write a Turbo Pascal Unit for
sockets (cool idea), but he didn't answer further mails.
I want to actually document the whole interface for OS2API project, so
ANYONE can use the stack from MDOS Box, but I need your help. And I want
people, who DO something and not just want the information, but do not do
something for others.
Please contact me via martin@kiewitz.de, thanks.
btw. I want to thank Timothy Sipples at I.B.M. Without him, I wouldnt be
able to get all that stuff going and I hope someone helps me porting
sockets to TP and other languages. I cannot do it, because I have too
little time, but it's easy. I don't think it would need more than about 2
weeks.

supported anymore by OS2.Ru.
We were glad to develop and support these products and we wish we did not
part with them.
From tomorrow on the forum for discussing CoolFM and ThirdEye will be
