Rich Walsh has created for OS/2 VOICE foundation a safe tool that enables somebody from an OS/2 forum or somebody you know support to you on your OS/2 desktop. Your system will need to have internet access in order for this work of course. You can close the connection by closing the CMD session that is displayed on your screen.
On other operating systems we already have such a feature software such as Teamviewer for example.
Currently the tool is being tested and I am looking for people who need to support to test this tool with.
It should be noted that this service is provided on an is basis of course. And I am located in the Netherlands so time zone difference have be taken into account. In the coming weeks this tool be tested further and then the server portion will be released to the general public as well! So other members of the community can help each other!
The benefit for people at home is that I can send a 1 MB package per email containing VNC and SSH client. It connects to my PC and I can assist you with issue's on your OS/2 system. I can see your desktop. You have to not set anything up in your firewall for this.
If I am able to help you it would be appreciated if you can make a donation to OS/2 VOICE to help sponsor the software development of OS/2 VOICE.
Please note on the above offer! When you donate to OS/2 VOICE foundation all donations will for 100% send to Bitwise works for software development. It is legally not possible to pay myself a salary as board member! I just wanted to clarify this!
