INDUSTRY LEADING ONLINE MAGAZINE PROVES OS/2
STILL HAS DEDICATED FOLLOWING WITH END USERS

10/18/97 -- DARTMOUTH, NS -- Haligonian Media, an innovative company
specializing in end-user content and real-time news, is celebrating
the second year anniversary of its flagship publication, OS/2 e-Zine!
(http://www.os2ezine.com/). Providing high quality content of
interest to OS/2 end-users free of charge, OS/2 e-Zine!, which
started in late 1995, is still going strong and looking forward to
1998.

Since its founding, OS/2 e-Zine! has chronicled the OS/2 industry
with innovative software reviews, interviews with OS/2 personalities,
commentary on the marketplace, humour and more. Early in 1997, OS/2
e-Zine! began a new regular feature, The OS/2 e-Zine! Reader Survey,
where readers are able to give their opinion each month on issues of
interest to OS/2 end-users. More recently, OS/2 e-Zine! began
another highly popular feature, The OS/2 e-Zine! Debate, where topics
important to OS/2 users are hashed out on-line.

"We've fought to be the best source of OS/2 journalism anywhere -- in
the print or on-line world -- since we began publication," said
Trevor Smith, President of Haligonian Media and Editor-in-Chief of
OS/2 e-Zine!. "We recognized early that on-line publications have
certain advantages over print, but that many on-line sites were
amateurish. So we married the high standards of the print industry
with the immediate nature of an on-line magazine and this is what has
separated OS/2 e-Zine! from other on-line information sources and
allowed us to prosper."

OS/2 e-Zine! is also the only place readers can find the highly
acclaimed "Help Desk" comic strip. Many readers have likened Help
Desk in humour and quality to the popular "Dilbert" comic strips and
each weekly installment is anxiously anticipated. Strips are
published weekly at the OS/2 e-Zine! WWW site and archived in each
month's issue for those who prefer to download them with the rest of
OS/2 e-Zine!'s extensive content.

Recently, Haligonian Media added even more value to OS/2 e-Zine! with
the introduction of a real-time news feed: WarpCast
(http://www.os2ezine.com/warpcast/). Recognizing readers' desire for
an up-to-the-minute news source, Haligonian Media, in cooperation
with The OS/2 Supersite (http://www.os2ss.com/) began broadcasting
real-time news items in September of this year. WarpCast news
arrives in readers' e-mail inboxes as it happens, or, if they prefer,
once a day in digest format. It is also archived daily on the
WarpCast archive site (http://www.os2ss.com/warpcast/). Like all
OS/2 e-Zine!'s services, WarpCast is free of charge and available to
anyone.

"With the introduction of WarpCast, OS/2 users now have the best of
all worlds," said Dr. Dirk Terrell, Administrator of the OS/2
Supersite. "They get comprehensive monthly magazine-style reporting
in OS/2 e-Zine!, links to popular sites, FAQs, and a massive file
archive from the OS/2 Supersite, and breaking news from WarpCast."

As OS/2 e-Zine! looks forward to 1998, Smith remains strongly
optimistic for the future of OS/2 and OS/2 e-Zine!. When asked about
negative OS/2 commentary in the mainstream media, he laughs, "Anyone
who believes the predictions they see in some mainstream publications
is a fool. OS/2 has been declared 'dead' many times, but it's still
here and will continue to be here for a long time to come. As you
can see from our continued growth, OS/2 e-Zine! has become a very
profitable venture over the past two years, and that could not happen
with the support of a healthy software market."

OS/2 e-Zine! is the largest OS/2 oriented on-line magazine in the
world with "live" issues distributed free of charge monthly on the
WWW as well as in zipped format for off-line reading and
redistribution to BBSs, on-line services and other channels.
Launched on October 31, 1995, OS/2 e-Zine! has provided readers with
comprehensive end-user oriented software reviews, interviews with
OS/2 luminaries, reader polls and general interest articles for over
two years. OS/2 e-Zine! is published by Haligonian Media.

Headquartered in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, Haligonian Media is
an aggressive electronic information publisher focused on bringing
high quality content to end-users of advanced operating systems.
