[WarpCast] Joining Team Warped for RC5-64 - 11/03/97 |
------------------------------ WarpCast ------------------------------ From: Colin Hildinger ----------------------- Since I've gotten dozens of emails from people saying, "I've got the program running, but how do I join Team Warped?" I decided it would be a good idea to send out a "How to join Team Warped" announcement. 1) You need to be running the client with your email address, not mine and not rc5@distributed.net (OK, you can run it with mine, but...) 2) Go to: http://rc5stats.distributed.net 3) Under "Search for email:" type your email address and click "Go" 4) Click on your email address 5) Click the link to have the server send you a password 6) Type in your password next to "Password:" 7) Join team 112 (that's our team number) That's it. Your blocks will be attributed to Team Warped and you will still be able to check your personal stats (I'm number 2445, hooray!) As for the other commonly asked question: Q: "How are we doing?" A: Here are some numbers for you: - We're currently in 4th place overall - We were the 5th fastest team yesterday - OS/2 is in 5th place behind (ACK!) Win32, MacOS, Linux, and Solaris. We could certainly use a lot more machines (even if they're not all OS/2 machines). What we could really use would be some serious hardware withing IBM thrown at this thing. There isn't a client for AIX yet (there will be one eventually), but there are clients for OS/2, Win32, Mac, Linux, BSD, Solaris, and tons of other machine types, so join the fun with whatever hardware you have at your disposal that has some free CPU cycles. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.os2ezine.com/warpcast/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
