[WarpCast] 128-bit encryption as an add-on - 11/05/97 |
------------------------------ WarpCast ------------------------------ Source: Loren Bandiera, http://catbert.istar.ca/os2/ Reply-to: lorenb@inforamp.net --- (** Moderator's note: This program currently doesn't have a version which will run under OS/2, but the survey on their website has an option for OS/2 in the 'Would you use it on these platforms' section, which implies that they would create an OS/2 version if enough people ask for it. Given that IBM is being extremely slow in releasing the 128-bit secure version of Navigator they have, this freely available program may be a good second option. If you have interest in secure transactions under OS/2, let these people know so. **) [11/05/97] - Netscape 128-bit Encryption There is a new program available, it's called Fortify, which claims: "Fortify is a program that provides world-wide, unconditional, full strength 128-bit cryptography to users of Netscape Navigator (v3) and Communicator (v4). If you routinely use Netscape's web browsers, and you live outside the U.S. and Canada (or if you use the export grade browsers inside the U.S. or Canada), then you need Fortify." I'd imagine that this program won't be available for long, but if you would like to check it out you can do so at: http://www.geocities.com/Eureka/Plaza/6333/ Source: Steve Wendt (stevew@hartnell.cc.ca.us) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.os2ezine.com/warpcast/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
