Both Mark and Aris wrote in with the following annoucement from TUCOWS,
originally posted to the TUCOWS Message Interchange List Kit (TMILK).
The full annoucement is extremely long, so it's been summarised herein.

The OS/2 section of the normal TUCOWS archive is being discontinued due
to lack of use (although OS/2 users were extremely enthusiastic about
saving it in previous weeks, daily access hits of the OS/2 section were
less than 500 world-wide, so TUCOWS maintainers are ceasing maintenance
of it.

However:

"When asked, the OS/2 community stood up for their operating system and
voted to keep the archive. It is for this reason that we proudly
announce the birth of TUCOWS/2, an independant stand alone web site
that hosts a dedicated TUCOWS OS/2 software archive. All the OS/2
software that was available on TUCOWS is now consolidated into one
massive archive known as TUCOWS/2, a name taken from the many letters
we recieved in our last user poll. You can point your browser right to
it at http://os2.tucows.com. It looks nearly the same as it did when it
was a part of TUCOWS, but without all the Microsoft garbage. You wanted
it, you got it, a place for OS/2
users to get whatever OS/2 shareware they wanted. But there is where
you come in.

---

TUCOWS/2 will mostly be maintained by volunteers from the OS/2
community, people who take a moment to drop us a note to inform us of
updates, key files that we don't carry, and errors and misprints on the
site that might mislead other fellow OS/2 users. We want you to have
the best archive on the Web, but we can't do it without your help. Tell
us what you would like to see. Drop us a note and let us know when your
favorite program gets updated. Clue us in when it seems that we don't
have a clue. The future of TUCOWS/2 rests in your hands.

If you can think of ways to make TUCOWS/2 better, drop us a line at
suggest@tucows.com. Every letter is read and responded to and will
contribute to the effectiveness of TUCOWS/2.

If you haven't already, come check us out at TUCOWS/2 at
http://os2.idirect.com"
