Full information on this is available at: http://www.operasoftware.com/alt_os.html" As of December 1st, orders for an OS/2 version of Opera Software's (http://www.operasoftware.com) Opera web browser have surpassed requests for the Macintosh version, hovering at around 1250. In light of this, Opera Software is quite enthusiastic about an OS/2 version. According to the Project Magic page (above): "We will now be taking some time (a month at most) to find programmers capable and willing to tackle the task of porting Opera to Mac and OS/2; very interesting contacts have already been established..." Originally, Opera had planned to ask supporters for an 'up front' fee in order to pay for development costs, but they may be reconsidering that decision in favor of the more 'normal' method of payment required only after the browser is finished: "We haven't yet decided whether to actually ask for up front payment, but we will be contacting you if this becomes reality."
