[WarpCast] IACT & OS/2 - 2/01/98 |
The most important thing you can do to support OS/2, you can do in the next 5 minutes See http://www.bestofos2.com --------------------------- WarpCast ------------------------- Source: Diane Gartner Reply-to: dgwhiz@earthling.net --- The International Alliance for Compatible Technology (IACT) wants to thank Warpcast and the OS/2 community for responding so earnestly to the project. Among the approximately 240 members from all over the world, OS/2 users comprise not only the largest, but also the most vocal and most active OS user group on all the continents represented by IACT. A couple of our OS/2 members have contributed technical articles to IACT's "24x7 Reports" section, with new articles to be posted shortly. The focus of the 24x7 Reports will continue to be on cross-platform combinations of important and/or popular software, emphasizing OS/2, NetWare, Unix, and the Mac and Windows platforms. Any IACT members who receive this announcement through WarpCast are specially invited & encouraged to contribute their own reports, based on their own first-hand experiences with OS/2 and the major desktop and/or network platforms. OS/2 users and programmers will want to visit our newly launched newsletter, the IACT Quarterly, or "IQ." This first issue includes an article on the Win32-OS/2 Project, an initiative of great importance to IACT as well as to that great group of OS/2 programmers working on it, such as IACT member Timur Tabi. IQ #1 also offers commentaries by IACT members, and a new collection of maps to illustrate IACT's representation in world nations. If you haven't done so already, help us to spread the word about IACT in any way you can. Add the IACT website URL to your e-mail tag/sig line, set up an IACT link on your homepage, and forward IACT announcements (like this one) to friends, family and colleagues no matter what platforms they use. If those computer users are interested in open standards, free access, more compatible systems, and of course an end to monopolies, they may want to join you in IACT! **Visit IACT's website at http://pages.cthome.net/iact/ E-mail your questions/comments to IACT's Co-ordinator, Diane Gartner, at dgwhiz@earthling.net. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
