The February issue of EDM/2 (The Electronic Developer Magazine for OS/2)
is now available at http://www.edm2.com. In this issue:

An Interview with IBM about OS/2
A Commentary on the IBM Interview
         A Programmer's Editor Shootout - Boxer
An Introduction to C++ Programming - Part 7

The interview with IBM was conducted with Stephanie Rasmussen and John
Albee. Ms. Rasmussen is a spokesperson for IBM Software. John Albee is the
Program Manager for IBM's Personal Software Products division. Here are
some of their comments:

There will be no OS/2 Warp v5.0 Client this year, instead the client
will get "enhancements" from Software Choice. There will however be a new
version of Warp Server.

There are currently no plans for multi-processor support for the
client, because most business users do not need this type of hardware at
the client.

Focus for OS/2 is Java and Networking Computing for large and
enterprise businesses .

IBM is still hasn't decided how to distribute Communicator for OS/2,
and they are still talking with Netscape about Communicator v5.0, and how
it will affect OS/2 users.

Voice recognition is not a requirement for the target customer set,
enterprise customers.

Win32 support will continue to come through the Citrix WinFrame Server.
