The International Alliance for Compatible Technology (IACT) wants to
thank the OS/2 users and programmers who contributed to our latest
efforts, such as the 24x7 Reports and the IACT Quarterly Newsletter.
We've received some fine responses to our current 24x7 Report, "The
Slippery Slope of PC 98: Riding down competition, innovation and
free choice, with Intel and Microsoft in the lead," exploring the PC
98 guidelines that target anybody who owns, uses or sells computer
hardware and sofware. The repercussions of the PC 98 plan for users
of OS/2 are significant.

A new 24x7 Report by an OS/2 user will be posted shortly, and I want
to remind all of you that you're invited to contribute your own
reports, based on first-hand experiences with OS/2 and with the
major desktop and/or network platforms that run under/with OS/2. The
focus of the 24x7 Reports will continue to be on cross-compatibility
problems + solutions, including a much-deserved emphasis on OS/2's
ever-increasing compatibility with software such as NetWare, Unix NT
and the Windows environments.

Users and programmers alike will want to see the springtime issue of
"IQ" our IACT Quarterly Newsletter. IQ Issue #2 features in-depth
articles and commentaries from IACT members, with 3 out of the 4 of
them being OS/2 people who program and work with OS/2 on a daily
basis. They discuss topics such as the benefits of Java, multimedia
software, HTML standards, alternatives to Windows environments, and
fundamentals in computer design. All of these featured selections
are original works -- we're proud to say that you won't find
resources like these anywhere but at IACT.
