Although the OS/2 port of mSQL, a free client/server relational
database, has been available for quite some time, the included Web
Gateway had a bug that prevented most users from using it.

But now, at The mSQL PC Home Page (http://www.blnet.com/msqlpc),
there is a patched exe for the W3-mSQL.exe included with mSQl 2.0.1B
that runs nicely on OS/2.

mSQL is very popular as a back-end for web sites on Unix plataforms.
The OS/2 port has third-party support for C/C++, REXX, Java and Sibyl
(http://www.ndrh.de/~speed/). You can get info about all of these at

And as mSQL is free for non-commercial use, it is a perfect fit if
you want to learn about client/server, relational databases, SQL,
Java JDBC and Web Databases.
