We are mainly individuals in the SOHO market, but we also have members who use Warp in a larger environment. The group is in its embryonic stages yet, so everyone can have an input into how it is run and what its objectives are. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in OS/2. We have started a UK OS/2 mailing list. To subscribe, send a message with 'subscribe os2uk' in the body to majordomo@sross.anglianet.co.uk. If you have not got a confirmation from the mailing list that you have subscribed within a few days, please try again. The web site is up and going the page: http://www.denzil71.demon.co.uk/os2ug.html will point you to it or it is at: http://www.denzil71.demon.co.uk/os2 Archives of recent mailings are available. Some ideas we are considering: 1. Regular newsletters 2. Meetings 3. Mini-conferences 4. Warp demonstrations 5. A Web Page 6. Promote OS/2 friendly retailers (???) 7. Campaigns to promote OS/2, Freedom of Choice etc 8. Ongoing recruitment 9. Workshops 10. Speaker meetings 11. Encourage the setting up of local groups 12. A UK Warpstock, if nobody else is organising it, but not to take away from a European Warpstock 13. Educate local computer user groups 14. Name for the group Recent discussion on the List focused on: Planning an Initial members meeting - picking the date and venue Warpstock, UK anyone? Designing a Web site - we have volunteers for contributing a site and doing the graphics Web site - brainstorming on the contents Identifying OS/2 software retailers and promoting them in some way on the web site; adding links with other OS/2 web sites and making them reciprical where possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
