The following letter comes from the developer of XFolder, an
enhancement for OS/2 which improves many WPS features and adds some
completely new ones. For more information, see the XFolder home
page:

Or see the latest issue of OS/2 e-Zine! (v3n07) in the "First Looks
and Nifty Gadgets" section.

   Dear users of XFolder,

The next XFolder version is in the works, and a number of bugs
will be removed. However, I have managed to introduce a few new
ones, so I thought it'd be best to remove these before releasing
this version to the public. This may take a few more weeks, so be
   a little more patient.

For those of you who have had problems with the XFolder Extended
Shutdown, especially this mysterious message saying "An error
occured saving the INI files: 5", here is a temporary workaround
until the next version is released:

This error ("5") means "Access Denied", that is, XFolder tries to
back up the existing INI files from OS2*.INI to OS2*.BAK.
Unfortunately, on a normal OS/2 system, the INI files have the
Hidden and System Attributes enabled, so simply renaming these
files fails, causing this very error. The next XFolder version
will fix this, but until then, you can simply open a command line
   and type

   CD ?:\OS2

(with ? being your boot drive) and then

   ATTRIB -R -S -H OS2*.INI

This should fix the problem, provided that you keep using
   XShutdown from then on. ;-)

Sorry about this bug, but on my system these attributes were not
set, so this error never occured on my system.

   Regards

   Ulrich Möller
