New Version 2.4 of Priority Master II at http://www.prioritymaster.com ****************************** WarpCast ****************************** Source: Alessandro Cantatore (alexcant@tin.it) Moderator: Dirk Terrell (admin@os2ss.com) ********************************************************************** I'm uploading a new public beta of Smart Windows to hobbes: ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/incoming/smw081.zip the definitive path will probably be: ftp://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/wps/smw081.zip Smart Windows is an OS/2 user interface enhancer with both aesthetical and functional features. The program modifies the default procedure of the frame windows and of various PM controls allowing to use bitmaps or shades as titlebar background with a 3D-look text. You can also use any bitmap of your design as window control (system menu, close, minimize, maximize, etc. buttons). Everything is changed at runtime! There is non need to patch any DLL or re-patch it as you apply a new fixpak and no need to reboot to completely change the look of your windows! You can as well move the window close button on the windows 95 position or next to the system menu or completely remove it and just click with the middle mouse button on the system menu to close the window. Now you can get rid of the ugly System Proportional font and force any window or dialog to use your favourite font with no text clipping as when you try to do that by setting a "DefaultFont" key in OS2.INI and again with no need of patching DLLs or rebooting. A unique feature allows you to hide both the titlebar and the menubar making them popup again as soon as you move the mouse on the upper border of the window. Other common features include: - window rolling (with autoroll/autounroll options) - Frame drag (put the mouse pointer on the window border and move the window where you like) - Entry fields automatic text selection (you can choose which mouse event selects the whole entry field content) - Automatic (sliding) focus (works with WinOS2 windows as well and skips disabled windows) - Mouse pointer hiding (when you stop moving the mouse, such as when reading a text, the mouse pointer is hidden and then displayed again as you move it or click a mouse button) - Mouse button double click emulation through the middle button - Easy-to-use PM installer/uninstaller and Preferences application [What's new] * The one hour limit has been removed! The program will be completely functional for 45 days or 200 reboots, whichever comes first. A new version will probably be available before 45 days and its installation will extend the trial time. * The registration reminder dialog now pops-up a while after boot and then about every ten hours. * Both global exceptions and group-of-features exceptions have been implemented. * During installation you can choose if the first time the program will start with all options disabled or with the default options. * A "Windows" page has been added with various options to modify the default font. * Settings have been added to the "Titlebar" pages for the titlebar context menu and for disabling the titlebar enhancements when the titlebar has a not-default background color. * Disabled windows i.e. windows not disabled by a child dialog are no longer activated by the autofocus feature. * The "Push window behind all other windows" feature has been enabled. * Various bug fixes have been made to the installation program (random hangs during uninstallation), the preferences application (sys3175 with Program Commander/2, etc), SMARTWIN.DLL (PMMail hangs, unrolled windows beeing rolled when clicking on the scrollbar or titlebar buttons, windows started in minimized state disappearing from the screen when getting focus after having been rolled, PMSEEK.EXE hangs, etc). more features coming soon! please report any bugs, problems, wanted features to my email address: alexcant@tin.it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
