Wright (wrightc@dtcweb.com) ********************************************************************** OS/2 SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP PHILADELPHIA AREA COMPUTER SOCIETY http://www.phillyos2.org The OS/2 SIG of the Philadelphia Area Computer Society invites all interested computer users to attend the October meeting: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 1998 7:00 - 10:00 PM Main School Building at The Episcopal Academy 376 N Latches Lane, Merion, PA *** OCTOBER FEATURE: COMPUTER BUILD-A-THON *** At the October meeting, all the folks wishing to participate in building their own computer will be able to do so with the help and guidance from our resident experts, David Gentzler and David Moskowitz, assisted by other knowledgable members. In September, options were presented for motherboards, memory, hard drives and all other components, plus purchasing and system compatibility considerations. Those folks planning to participate must bring all their hardware to the October meeting. Updated Build-A-Thon instructions, detailed system specs and lots of helpful advice have also been posted on our OS/2 web site at http://www.phillyos2.org. Please review this material. Come to the October meeting even if you don't want to build a computer at this time. Everyone is encouraged to come to the October meeting, ask all the questions you want, look over someone's shoulder, and get valuable vicarious experience. Most of the meeting will be devoted to the Build-A-Thon. But we also plan to include a very brief Q&A session, OS/2 news and new product announcements, software raffle (if available), etc. Our customary free light refreshments will also be available.
