The Oct. '98 issue of the RexxLA newsletter is now
available for your perusal on the RexxLA web page.

Contrary to what the webmaster says on the RexxLA home page
about the date of newsletter-posting, any flames are to be
equally shared with ME!

The late posting date does have a few consequences:
 - The next issue will be for December '98. There will be
no Nov. issue.
 - Some dates in the "Name the Newsletter" contest have
been adjusted. Please (re)read the corrected version posted today.

We will in the future strive for a start-of-month
publication.

Here are a few reasons for reading the newsletter:
 - A GUI could result in reduction of code-bloat. See
"Scriptor's MAID".
 - A story on the life of Charlotte, a web browser for
VM/CMS.
 - Aviar releases Oz., a voice-activated CMMS.
 - Is it really easy to write a correct Base-64 decoder?
See "Dr. Rx".
 - Pros & cons of merging various Rexx implementations.
See "REXXwish".
 - Dr. Brian Marks will keep us updated regarding the
ANSI-Rexx work.
