The next meeting of the Southern California OS/2 User Group
(SCOUG) will be next Saturday, Nov. 21, at 9:00 AM PST, at
the IBM offices located in Plaza Tower, 600 Anton Blvd.,
Costa Mesa, on the 2nd floor.

By Popular Demand --- Schiffman Returns, Bringing His Home
Network With Him!

Our own networking guru, Steve Schiffman, with assistance
from Gary Granat, will be giving a long-awaited and much
requested demo of setting up a home network. After a
overwhelming number of members requested Steve's
presentation, he gave us a teaser a couple of months
ago at our Open House. This time, though, we'll really get
a full-blown how-to demonstration on building a home
network, complete with wires crossing the floor!

For those who have tried and failed to set up a home
network, are having problems with one, or are ready to test
the waters, this meeting is a must. After the
presentation, we'll have a raffle, Q&A, and then:

General Interest Group - looks at IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
usage.

Programming SIG - Virginia Hetrick explains JavaScript.

Special Peer Network Installation Workshop - Steve & Gary
Granat will help get Peer installed and working on your
computer. If you plan to bring your computer in for
assistance, please let Steve know (steve@scoug.com or
714-531-0376).

NOTE: The Internet SIG, OS/2 Help Desk, and Networking SIG
will NOT be meeting until January 1999. See the
President's Message at
http://www.scoug.com/os24u/1998/scoug811.2.presmsg.html for
the explanation.

When, where, and how to get there: SCOUG will be meeting on
Saturday, November 21, at 9:00 AM (PST) at the IBM offices
located in Plaza Tower, 600 Anton Bl., Costa Mesa, CA, on
the 2nd floor. From I-405, exit onto Bristol northbound
(one exit NW of the I-405/Hwy 55 interchange). Turn
right on Anton Blvd (the first signal north of I-405). Go
east 2 signals and turn right (you will see a TGI Fridays'
on your right). Park in the open-air lot to your left.
Plaza Tower is on a diagonal from the open-air parking lot.

Further information (including driving directions) can be
found on the SCOUG web page at http://www.scoug.com. The
driving directions also include maps for the general
meeting that you can print off as needed.

We hope to see you there!
