Long awaited for, the MySQL 3.21.33b binaries for OS/2 are
being uploaded to Hobbes (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/) - and
next I'll be uploading it to the MySQL guys at TCX
(http://www.tcx.se/).

UDFs support is compiled in but largely untested. An
install script is not yet done... unless you have some
unix-like shell installed. Otherwise read the INSTALL.OS2
provided by Rocco Caputo (thanks!). Brush it up with
infomation from the mysql.inf document.

This build of MySQL for OS/2 is a lot more stable - it is
recommended that people trying out the older build upgrade
to this build.

Interesting files:

mysql2-3.21.33b-bin.zip
This file has the already compiled server and client tools.
Also included are the C headers and libraries for both
multi and single threaded compiles. Plus, my own Pascal
sources for Virtual Pascal - these compile for both OS/2
and Win32 platforms (and may work with other 32bit Pascal
compilers) and include a nice Class interface for those who
are fans of OO programming.

mysql2-3.21.33b-src.zip
This is big - it's a copy of my source tree complete with
makefiles. Also included is the texi2ipf perl script to aid
creating the OS/2 Info Viewer (INF) files and all of the
latest OS/2 specific fixes are in. Diff files will be
available soon (email me if you really want it).

pthreads004.zip
The latest version of my POSIX thread library for OS/2.
This is required for compiling with UDF support. Otherwise,
pthreads003.zip is sufficient for compiling
mysql2-3.21.33b. If you already have an earlier version of
pthreads installed, delete the pthreads.a file from your
/emx/lib directory.

This is my last word on 3.21.x (except if any major bugs
are found)

I shall now be working only on 3.22.x and applying fixes to
that...

Sidenote:
I shall be going on holiday next week - so any further
updates are unlikely until 1999.

Have a grrreat Christmas, everyone...
