Latches Lane, Merion, PA *** DECEMBER MEETING FEATURES *** -- "Moneydance" Java Personal Finance Manager -- -- Annual OS/2 Birthday and Holiday Party -- Sean Reilly, author of highly acclaimed Moneydance multiplatform personal finance manager, will present his latest release. Moneydance records all checking, savings and credit card account activity, as well as breaking down expenses and incomes into summed categories. It also supports double-entry bookkeeping, split transactions, multiple accounts and currencies, and more. Moneydance is written in Sun's Java programming language so it will run on virtually any platform. Moneydance is a new product (currently in beta), but very usable for most personal finances. Additional features currently in development include: scheduled transactions (in 2-4 weeks); on-line banking (6 months); more thorough and intuitive investment tracking (4-6 months). An 11th OS/2 Birthday and Holiday Party will also be held at the December meeting. Software and other items will be raffled, plus the customary 50/50 raffle, cake, ice cream and soft drinks. Other agenda items include a shortened Q&A session, fall Comdex report, OS/2 news and new product announcements and SIG business matters. An OS/2 system will be on hand for demos of OS/2, Java, Internet, etc., as time may permit. Mark the date and time: Wednesday, December 18, at 7:00pm.
