[WarpCast] QuickFix 1.1 Released - 12/19/98 |
Y2000 Pro : The solution for the Year 2000 problem in PC BIOSes. Works with OS/2, Linux and other 32-bit Operating Systems. http://www.blueskyinnovations.com/y2k.html ****************************** WarpCast ****************************** Source: Walter Metcalf (os2.guide@miningco.com) Moderator: Dirk Terrell (admin@os2ss.com) ********************************************************************** QuickFix is another of those tools for applying OS/2 fixpacks without obliging you to make a bunch of floppy disks. It differs from other utilities of the genre in that it uses a diskette image extractor which does a CRC verification before applying what could otherwise be junk from a bad download to your perfectly-tuned and functional OS/2 system. QuickFix is not specific to any particular fixpack. Improvements over version 1.0 include: 1. Some sanity checks on directory names. 2. Now works with OS/2 3.0 as well as 4.0. 3. Handles all known variants of the fixtools distribution file name (fixt*.exe, cs*.exe, cs*.dsk) 4. Much simpler user interface. Default values are now presented in editable input fields. Explanations are generally shorter. 5. Re-use of the archive directory is now allowed (with appropriate warnings). 6. Detects artifacts from prior fixpack application and (with user approval) can clean up by doing a fake "commit".
