You may have seen a news article at Sm@rt Reseller's Web
site (at http://www.zdnet.com/sr) about OS/2. It points to
an article at the OS/2 Supersite about a possible new Warp
client. (There's also apparently a poll about the subject
at the ZDNet Anchordesk site.)

I didn't write the article, by the way. (When I asked Joe
why he didn't call me for more information before posting
the news item, he explained that he wrote it in between
diaper changes on his week-old son, and that it was 4:30am
my time when he sent it in. As I'm not interested in being
woken up at 4:30am even for OS/2, this was a good
explanation.) I do know more about the situation than Joe
said, but what he says is a pretty good summary for my
purposes.

Anyway, if I can accomplish it over the weekend, I'd _very_
much like to do a follow-up article with responses from the
community. While I think I've aptly demonstrated my caring
for OS/2 end-users, in this case I'd like to hear from any
OS/2 ISP, or reseller, VAR, consultant who's using OS/2 to
deliver products/services. If your livelihood depends on
providing computer-related solutions, and those solutions
depend on OS/2, then I'd like to hear from you. But,
because the print magazine is only available in North
America, I should really limit my quotes to folks in the US
and Canada. (Sorry, guys.)

So here's what I'd like to know...

-- What effect, if any, would a new OS/2 Warp client have
on your business?

-- In what way does your business currently rely on OS/2?
What OS/2-based products or services are you providing?

-- If you're willing to be quoted, please provide me with
your name, title, business name, geographic location, and
what you do ("I'm a computer consultant specializing in
TCP/IP-based programming" or "My company is an ISP"). If
you'd like to share your reseller-specific opinions but
must do so off-the-record, by all means make that clear,
too.

-- If you don't work for a computer reseller but can't
resist sharing your opinion, let me know that up-front.
(Try to resist, though. There are better venues for chewing
the OS/2-flavored fat.)

If you don't read this until Monday, January 4th, it'll be
too late. I need to send in the article sometime on Sunday
afternoon, because I'll be travelling most of the week.
