Wright (wrightc@dtcweb.com) ********************************************************************** WarpUK; UK OS/2 Users Group First Official Meeting. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Following a successful planning meeting in September, a group of OS/2 users is aiming for a formal launch of WarpUK, a user group for UK OS/2 SOHO users, hobbyists, and developers at a meeting in January 1999. The meeting will be held on Friday the 29th of January 1999. The location of the meeting will be at IBM's Bedfont Lakes site. The meeting is now in less than one week. The Meeting will start at 1:30pm and will continue into the evening. We will have the room from 1:00 onwards, earlier arrivals than this may use the IBM canteen which is just outside the meeting room. The meeting will run as follows:- Welcome and Introduction - Sid Gale (5 mins) Introduction to the "Problem Workshop" which will run throughout the entire meeting. Coordinated by Dimitris Michelinakis, WarpUK (5 mins) "IBM's overall strategy for OS/2" - Robert Reuben, IBM UK. (60 mins) "Aurora, Network Stations working with OS/2, and Java," - Alan Chambers & Dave Wood, IBM UK (60 mins) "Warpzilla" - Antony T Curtis, OLCS (45 mins) User group business - Introduction of the newly voted in committee Subscription issues Any ideas/points from the floor (30 mins) "Networking your Warped PC. From a SOHO LAN upwards." - Dimitris Michelinakis and Chris Lindley, WarpUK (60 mins) Open forum Admission will be 6ukp in advance,8ukp on the door with 50% discounts for students.
