For those of you bored with distributed.net and RC5, check

Join over 8000 of your fellow number theory enthusiasts in 
the search for new Mersenne primes. The Great Internet 
Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) harnesses the power of thousands of small computers like yours to solve the 
seemingly intractable problem of finding HUGE prime 
numbers. GIMPS is dedicated to a rigorous search for new 
Mersenne  primes. Our goal is to test every Mersenne number 
with an  exponent less than 20,500,000. This will require 
billions of computer hours to accomplish.
