The OS/2 SIG of the Philadelphia Area Computer Society invites
all interested computer users to attend the April meeting:

         WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 1999 7:00 - 10:00 PM
The Episcopal Academy, 376 N. Latches Lane, Merion, PA

            *** APRIL FEATURE PRESENTATION ***
       -- OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business (Aurora) --

Main feature in April will be a presentation/demo of the latest
prerelease test version of OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business (aka
Aurora), by SIG members Alonza Baker and David Moskowitz. Alonza
and David have both been active Aurora beta testers.

Release of the gold GA version is expected very soon from IBM,
perhaps even prior to our April 28th OS/2 SIG meeting date.
Hopefully, Aurora will also be the basis of a possible future
OS/2 "Warp 5" client release.

Aurora will set new standards for the network computing world,
with first class Java and web features. A recent unofficial
advisory from Timothy Sipples reported that it will include
(among other new features) WebSphere Application Server 1.1 and
Lotus Domino Go, for deploying Web applications that execute
server-side Java. Java servlets offer safe, secure access to
back-tier relational databases and transaction-based systems,
while generating dynamic content for Web clients. Much more.

Other agenda items include SIG business matters, OS/2 news, new
product announcements, a brief "How-To" or "Neat Feature" member
presentation, Q&A session, software raffle, etc. An OS/2 system
will be on hand for demos of OS/2, Java, Internet, etc., as time
may permit. Stardock has generously offered to provide another
copy of Object Desktop for a raffle prize, same as last month.
Free light refreshments will also be available.

Mark the date and time: Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00pm. If you
want to hear about all the new and exciting developments, or have
questions about OS/2 Warp and Java, this is the place to see OS/2
in action and get all the answers to your questions. OS/2 SIG
meetings are open & free for all OS/2 users and guests, and all
others interested in learning about OS/2.
