A free update for current users. ****************************** WarpCast ****************************** Source: Thomas at Pepperhead (thomas@pepperhead.co.uk) Moderator: Dirk Terrell (admin@os2ss.com) ********************************************************************** [Moderator's note: See previous Warpcast message http://www.os2ss.com/warpcast/wc3374.html and the Hobbes archiver's response at http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/~archiver/pepperhead.html ] As you have probably read Pepper Head Design (Hot Ideas) Limited made a proposal to the OS/2 users under our understanding of the position made by the archiver of the hobbes.nmsu.edu archive. We believe that Mr Shagam (archiver@hobbes.nmsu.edu) suggested the the OS/2 community would have to decide what to do with hobbes to continue it, and gave no suggestion as to his plans or restrictions over hobbes. To such end, Pepper Head Design costed the cost of the bandwidth and a full time hobbes archiver and made a proposal to the OS/2 community via Warpcast, that we were *considering* continuing the services of hobbes (on a web site under the URL of hobbes.org.) and made full details of the way we would handle it. With the OS/2 community as small as it is and having as little corporate support as it currently enjoys it was our opinion that this was a valid way of making a real contribution to OS/2 users. Mr Shagam on hobbes.nmsu.edu has now accused us of attempting to deceive and mislead the OS/2 community. Because of this we now retract our offer of setting up an OS/2 archive with the content of hobbes hosted on a fast connection in the USA with a full time archiver and non obtrusive advertising revenue (whilst providing full ftp and an open mirroring policy). I refuse to be made a fool for attempting to do something, for the good of the OS/2 community at large. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
