We have made substantial progress this weekend and we should have something ready for public use soon. SETI@Home is a distributed computing project similar to the encryption cracking efforts run by distributed.net (http://www.distributed.net). The SETI@Home concept is to distribute radio telescope data gathered by the SETI project (SETI = Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) to thousands of computers over the Internet so that the data can be analyzed for signals that might be of intelligent origin. The client software runs in the background when your computer is idle. The SETI@Home web page is located at http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
