Even if you're not thinking about buying anything OS/2 related, you might find something that catches your interested. Sorry for being a little late on this one. It was July 4th, after all. At least there's more to talk about this time. As always, there are copies of OS/2 2.x, Warp 3, Warp 4, and Lotus applications available for sale. There is a very rare copy of OS/2 1.3 - great for that old 286 you have lying around. In the literature department, there are dozens of books. I'm no longer going to list them all, since they're are just too many. Most of the books are for older versions of OS/2, but pretty much any programming book is still valid (one of the reasons why I love programming for OS/2). However, one book stands out: Kogan and Deitel's "The Design of OS/2", under the listing "Two Classic 32 bit OS/2 Programming Books". This is a must-have, everyone! In the software category, there are a number of interesting items: DCF/2 (on-the fly disk compression), 4OS2 (command-line replacement), Object Desktop 1.5, Avarice, GammaTech utils, and GalCiv 2. For programmers, we have: Borland C++ 2.0 (another highly desired item), a book on WPS programming, and VA Java Enterprise. One item does stand out: under the heading, "Vintage OS/2 1.x Developers' Stuff!!!" you'll find ALL FOUR of the original MS OS/2 programming references. These books are priceless must-haves for the OS/2 programmer. They're a complete reference of the 16-bit OS/2 API's, and when you have to deal with old source code, they will be a life saver. Anyone who has to do maintenance on old OS/2 programs needs these books. On comp.os.os2.marketplace, there are various versions of OS/2 for sale, including LAN Server, as well as a few other minor items. Those of you looking to sell your OS/2 related stuff, I strongly recommend you put it on eBay and post an announcement on comp.os.os2.marketplace. If you include the word "OS/2" in the title of your description, I'll see it and include it in the next report. If you're looking for OS/2 items on eBay, you should make two searches, one with the search term "OS/2" and another with the term "OS2". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------
