The next meeting of the Southern California OS/2 User Group
(SCOUG) will be next Saturday, July 17, at 9:00 AM PDT, at
the IBM offices located in Plaza Tower, 600 Anton Blvd.,
Costa Mesa, on the 2nd floor.

Sundial Systems returns to SCOUG

SCOUG likes Sundial Systems (http://www.sundialsystems.com)
because they always do a great presentation. So we are
looking forward to another meeting in that grand tradition.
Expect to see a little of what's current and a lot of
what's coming from the company that brings you Relish, Mesa
2, Clearlook, DBExpert, and Rover. (Whew - that's a
mouthful!)

After the presentation we'll have Q&A to get your computer
problems resolved. Then a raffle and the Saturday SIG
meetings:

General Interest Group - will look at IFS add-ons for OS/2.

Programming SIG - Peter Skye will continue his explanation
and demonstration of device drivers.

Afterwards: No-host lunch and friendly chat at TGI Friday's
across the street or another local restaurant.

Monday, July 19, 7 PM PDT meetings:

On July 19th, the Networking SIG will use the WiseManager
software that was installed at last month's meeting to boot
the Heritage Christian High School lab computers as thin
clients. They will then use the thin clients to run the
Ziff-Davis WebBench client software to test the performance
of web servers running under OS/2, NT, Linux and Windows.

At the OS/2 Help Desk that same evening, volunteers will
give you hands-on assistance solving your hardware and
software problems.

Thursday, July 22, 7 PM PDT meeting:

Join the Sundial SIG for a great hands-on learning
experience with DBExpert. For more information about the
Sundial SIG, contact SIG leader Sheridan George at
Sheridan@scoug.com.

When, where, and how to get there:
SCOUG will be meeting on Saturday, July 17, at 9:00 AM
(PDT) at the IBM offices located in Plaza Tower, 600 Anton
Bl., Costa Mesa, CA, on the 2nd floor. From I-405, exit
onto Bristol northbound (one exit NW of the I-405/Hwy 55
interchange). Turn right on Anton Blvd (the first signal
north of I-405). Go east 2 signals and turn right (you
will see a TGI Fridays' on your right, where our
after-meeting lunch will be at). Park in the open-air lot
to your left. Plaza Tower is on a diagonal from the
open-air parking lot.

For the Networking SIG & the OS/2 Help Desk on July 19, &
the Sundial SIG on July 22:

The Heritage Christian High School in Anaheim is at 2530 W.
La Palma Ave. It is on the south side of La Palma Ave.
(about 200 ft. E of Magnolia) on the property of Grace
Baptist Church. There is a 2-story office building close
to La Palma Ave. with the address of 2528 up near the roof.
Turn in (south) there. Drive all the way to the back and
park along the chain-link fence. NOTE: There is a lot of
freeway construction north of the school on I-5 and the
91 freeways; some on/off ramps may be closed and/or have
detours. Check the SCOUG web site for updates, and leave
yourself plenty of time to find our new SIG meeting
location.

Further information (including driving directions) can be
found on the SCOUG web site at http://www.scoug.com. The
driving directions (http://www.scoug.com/directions.html)
also include maps for the general meeting and the Help
Desk/Networking/Sundial SIGs that you can print off
as needed. Come and join us!
