This version of the game actually requires thought! ;-) Challenge your mental imaging capabilities and boggle your mind while getting the pants beat off of you by a stupid computer program running in a FULL SCREEN 640x480 8 bit display in OS/2! This is a simple application I threw together using Scitech's excellent MGL (Multiplatform Graphics Library). Though it is not terribly graphically impressive, it exercises the ability of MGL to change to 640x480 8 bit color screen mode and display graphics and directly access the hardware color palette. If all reports from this application are good, I will port more graphically impressive applications to OS/2 using Scitech's MGL (such as Retrocade). Also after receiving some feedback, I will release the source to this program to the public. REQUIREMENTS: You *must* install and boot up with a copy of SDDHELP.SYS from Scitech's Display Doctor software from beta 19 or higher. You must do this NO MATTER WHICH VIDEO DRIVERS YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING. RECOMMENDATIONS: If the Scitech Display Doctor video drivers work with your video hardware, USE THEM. :-) DOWNLOADS: Scitech Display Doctor and MGL are available at: http://www.scitechsoft.com 4D Tic-Tac-Toe is available at: http://emuos2.vintagegaming.com/downloads/mgl_4dttt.zip FEEDBACK: Feedback is very much encouraged and welcome. I need to know how well MGL is working with your systems before I can decide it is worthwhile to port a larger application using MGL. Let me know whether or not this works with your hardware and drivers. Write to mamedev@stny.rr.com. Be sure to read the ReadMe.OS2 file included completely before using this software. ------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ -------------------------------------------------------
