[WarpCast] SecureDesktop is stopped - 6/13/00 |
Network Trace for OS/2 - Turn any OS/2 machine into a network probe. - Take a trace on any segment in the network, in minutes. - A software-only, hardware-independent implementation. http://www.goldencode.com/ntrace.html ********************************************************************* Source: Juergen Dankoweit (Juergen.Dankoweit@t-online.de) Moderator: Trevor Smith (trevor@haligonian.com) ------------------------------------------------------- SecureDesktop is stopped, definitely. =========================== I get more and more bug-reports which shows me that following points will not work without any source code from IBM: (*) device-driver FixPak: mouse-driver is not SES-enabled (*) some original device-drivers (without fixpacks): FFST, some hard-disk-drivers - I do not know why a hard-disk-driver must be SES-enabled but... (*) GRADD-video-drivers should be SES-enable, but I do not know why a graphics must be SES-enabled but... This is not a great role of IBM: Even the developers do not know which drivers are SES-enabled and which not. This is really very sad! (*) my own replacement of the WPDesktop-class: utilities like XWorkplace, XFolder, ObjectDesktop will not run with SecureDesktop. I cannot considerate every WPDesktop-replacement that will come up in future. (*) SES-API has changed from Warp4 to Warp4.5 (This reminds to the WindowsAPI of the week!) Sorry for all who wanted to use SecureDesktop and thanks to all who tested this for me. I repeat SecureDesktop is dead and I will not continue the development. ------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe, unsubscribe, or for more information on WarpCast, visit: http://www.warpcast.com/ -------------------------------------------------------
