Latches Lane, Merion, PA *** JUNE FEATURE PRESENTATION *** -- WARPTECH REPORT & DCITU PRESENTATION/DEMO -- Main feature at the June meeting will be a double presentation by SIG member Jim Nuytens. Jim and Denise attended the WarpTech event in Phoenix, sponsored by POSSI, over the 3-day Memorial Day holiday weekend. Jim will report on his experiences at WarpTech, including his impressions of Steven King's presentation on the current status of OS/2 as it relates to both IBM's corporate customers and home users. He will also show digital photographs that were taken at WarpTech with his new Olympus D340R camera. Additionally, Jim will demonstrate DCITU, Digital Camera Image Transfer Utility. DCITU is a native OS/2 program that works with several popular cameras, including a number of the Kodak 200 series cameras, Nikon CoolPix, Minolta Dimage, Epson PhotoPC, and several others. Larry Lavins will report on the current status of FixPak-13 and the problems encountered by many OS/2 users. He also expects to have his newly-built computer on hand, and will discuss its hardware components, costs, etc. Other agenda items include SIG business matters, OS/2 news, new software releases, Q&A session, software raffle, etc. An OS/2 system will be on hand for demos of OS/2, Java, Internet, etc., as time permits. Free light refreshments will also be available.
