Subject: SVISTA/2 Joins Early Support Program
Several weeks ago Serenity Systems International (SSI) began anEarly
Support Program (ESP) for the Serenity Virtual Station(SVISTA). The
results of the ESP have been extremely positive. In fact, 80% of the
respondents to a survey indicated that the products are nearly ready for
commercial release. SSI is now prepared to move forward with this program.
The ESP is still restricted to registered eComStation users. To
participate, users should log on to the site. At which time they will be
at http://www.ecomstation.com/ecsdb/profile.phtml and can follow the steps
to participate in the ESP (see Serenity Virtual Station Early Support
Program: » Sign up for the Early Support Program
This week, (April 4), Serenity Systems is adding the first drop of the
OS/2 - eComStation host version of this product, SVISTA/2 (note, this is
early release, time limited software). Later this week we will also be
updating the Linux host. The Windows host is still available. Later this
week we may add the FreeBSD host, as well.
By the end of the month it is likely we will move this programto a public
beta. Depending of the performance of the beta program, we look forward to
delivering product this summer.

At long last, the German translation of Maul is complete! So now you can
enjoy this product in whichever language you prefer.
V2.28 consolidates all the recent changes and adds the ePDF handler to the
main distribution so that you don't need to download it separately.

msgc is a message tool that enables you to easily replace strings buried
in your source code with strings grabbed from a message file. The msgx
portion provides an open source replacement function for sprintf, and is
freeware. The msgc compiler is used to convert a file full of strings
into a message file. The message tool has been developed in order to
simplify multilingual support in applications which do not use resource
files.

I can't upload to Hobbes, no FTP access through the proxy/firewall.
Anyone who wants to do so has my permission. I'll be out of touch for 2
to 3 weeks as I try to get out of this giant sandbox.
Cheers,
Jason
