Peter Greulich, Paul Avallon, and Andy PawIowski of IBM will be demonstrating
ALL of the following products:
"OS/2 Warp Server for e-business, Aurora, is IBM s latest application and
file serving product, in development, supporting the the enterprise Network Computing
and e-business strategies. Aurora will support large, multi-server network environments
with many hundreds of users, and it will support small, departmental installations
with fewer than a dozen users, depending upon the needs of the customer. This server
flexibility should provide increased value to enterprise customers through enhanced
reliability, performance, capacity, and functionality. Coupled with the ability
to support many mission-critical applications simultaneously running on one server
and the ability to manage Windows NT servers, this is the must-have server of choice.

And as always, feel free to bring refreshments for the crowd.
The Swedish OS/2 User Group is proud to invite you to a presentation about OS/2
Warp Server for e-business, aka Aurora.
It will be held at IBM Forum, Kista, Sweden. The presentation will be held by
Kim Isakssen, IBM. on Thursday 6 May at 10.00-12.00.
See more at: http://www.os2ug.se/aurora
The site is in Swedish.
The OS/2 SIG of the Philadelphia Area Computer Society invites all interested
computer users to attend the April meeting:
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 1999 7:00 - 10:00 PM
The Episcopal Academy, 376 N. Latches Lane, Merion, PA
Main feature in April will be a presentation/demo of the latest prerelease test
version of OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business (aka Aurora), by SIG members Alonza Baker
and David Moskowitz. Alonza and David have both been active Aurora beta testers.
Release of the gold GA version is expected very soon from IBM, perhaps even prior
to our April 28th OS/2 SIG meeting date. Hopefully, Aurora will also be the basis
of a possible future OS/2 "Warp 5" client release.
Aurora will set new standards for the network computing world, with first class
Java and web features. A recent unofficial advisory from Timothy Sipples reported
that it will include (among other new features) WebSphere Application Server 1.1
and Lotus Domino Go, for deploying Web applications that execute server-side Java.
Java servlets offer safe, secure access to back-tier relational databases and transaction-based
systems, while generating dynamic content for Web clients. Much more.
Other agenda items include SIG business matters, OS/2 news, new product announcements,
a brief "How-To" or "Neat Feature" member presentation, Q&A
session, software raffle, etc. An OS/2 system will be on hand for demos of OS/2,
Java, Internet, etc., as time may permit. Stardock has generously offered to provide
another copy of Object Desktop for a raffle prize, same as last month. Free light
refreshments will also be available.
Mark the date and time: Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00pm. If you want to hear about
all the new and exciting developments, or have questions about OS/2 Warp and Java,
this is the place to see OS/2 in action and get all the answers to your questions.
OS/2 SIG meetings are open & free for all OS/2 users and guests, and all others
interested in learning about OS/2.

SCOUG has weekly meetings of it's OS/2 Help Desk and Internet SIG on IRC.
On each Monday of every month SCOUG holds a live interactive Help Desk on our
IRC Channel SCOUG. The format is similar to our previous Help Desk meetings; Knowledible
SCOUG members standby willing to answer your questions and help you with your problems.
Internet SIG
The Internet SIG returns to IRC Chat on Wednesday at 7PM, Hollywood time. Hope
you can join us. We'll look at the law on the web, with the recent captures of suspects
for the Melissa virus and a Securities and Exchange Commission gripe against a PairGain
employee. The ability to track bad people on the net is as important to it's future
as hangin' rustlers was in the old west. We'll lose a few innocents, and we'll end
up with more supervision than we probably need, but prosperity should improve, and
most things will appear cleaner and prettier. Let's talk about the good and the
bad. Maybe we can figure out if the 'net caused the high school shooters in Colorado
to flip, as many newsies and politicos seem to believe.
We'll also look at some utilities for your web browser.
Come and join us. Go to the web site for details:
http://users.deltanet.com/users/dwatson/meeting.html
It's been there for a long time, perhaps you forgot about it, perhaps you wrote
it off due to the limitation of 254 characters per line. This coming Tuesday we'll
fire up the ol' Enhanced Editor, a.k.a. EPM! In fact, you'll see things that you
only thought you could accomplish with a power editor that you would have to pay
big bugs for!
EPM - "out of the box"
