Phase out of Norman Virus Control 4 (NVC 4) for all platforms
Hi
Support for Norman Virus Control 4 (NVC 4) will soon be phased out, as NVC
5 has been available to all licensed customers since early 2001.
On June 30, 2002, support for NVC 4 will end.
Information on upgrading to NVC 5 is also available via Normans web site
at: http://www.norman.com/technical_nvc4_update_nvc5.shtml
For more information regarding other Norman products that will be
effected, Please visit http://www.norman.com/technical_nvc4_update.shtml
These products include:
NVC for Exchange 5 and 5.5
NVC for MIMEsweeper
NVC for Groupware
All customers are encouraged to upgrade their networks to NVC 5, and to
contact their point of sale or Normans customer service department at
(888) GO-NORMAN for assistance.
This is a clip from a notice sent to me as a reminder to all NVC 4
licenses to make sure you get the update. You will need an update key
given free from Norman for the newer NVC 5 Software.
Sincerely
Vaughn Bender
Jakesplace news server - address change
DHS.org has decided to cancel many of their accounts sans notice,
including mine. So... if you're wondering why jakesplace.dhs.org is no
longer responding to name server enquiries, that's why.
Point your newsreaders to news.consultron.ca... it's the exact same
server, just under a different name.
I was going to retire the *.dhs.org names at the end of this summer
anyway... I've just had to move the scheduling up a little bit!
Regards,
Jack Troughton

C_DEL command line file delete utility
I have made C_DEL available for download from my web page.
http://www.cottagesoft.com/~dwhawk/other.html
C_DEL is an OS/2 command line utility for deleting files.
It expects to receive file names from a pipe or it will accept one file
name entered on the command line. It will delete files that have the
read-only attribute, but it will not remove directories.
Usage examples:
dir m:\*.obj /F /S | c_del
The line above will delete all of the .obj files on the M: drive
unzip -Z -1 somefile.zip | c_del
The line above would delete all of the files that had been unziped from
the zip file somefile.zip. However it will not delete any directories
that were created when the file was unzipped.
This program is free, but the author retains all rights.

GNU make 3.79.1
What Is GNU Make?
Make is a tool which controls the generation of executables and other
non-source files of a program from the program's source files.
Make gets its knowledge of how to build your program from a file called
the makefile, which lists each of the non-source files and how to compute
it from other files. When you write a program, you should write a makefile
for it, so that it is possible to use Make to build and install the
program.
