Links have been updated for both the Image Files and the ZIP (RSU) files, and the Fastkick utility has been updated to comply with the new CSF143 (Corrective Service Facility version 1.43) tool required to apply FP14.

For those who have been watching and waiting for the WarpCast web site to become active again, we have made some small progress. The web archives up to June 2000 are now back online, in their new format. Also, search features are working (hopefully more quickly than before).

As part of the reorganization of WarpCast, all past news archives will now reside locally at the warpcast.com domain instead of being housed at the OS/2 Supersite (os2ss.com). Those of you who were looking at www.os2ss.com/warpcast should update your bookmarks.

We still have a great deal of work to do to the WarpCast web site and we appreciate your patience. Unfortunately we can't give firm estimates on when the upgrade will be complete but the hard parts -- moving to a new server, improving bandwidth, moving and reorganizing the enormous WarpCast news archive -- are behind us (hopefully).

SmartBar is an OS/2 PM tool for monitoring various system activities. It offers simple functions like displaying the time or the number of running processes, but also advanced features like support for power management or E-Mail. The Look and Feel is customizable and you can change the colors.

I have just discovered Eicon's DIVA LAN ISDN Modem, and have it serving a small network of OS/2 workstations. This device can function as a four-port hub for your office or home, or it can attach to your existing hub. The setup program is VERY COOL! It is a web page served by the device itself! No Windows-only blues. There is also a telnet interface for detailed command-line control.

With its built-in compression, you can get 512 Kb/s out of a normal Basic Rate Interface ISDN line -- in _both_ directions of course. At this speed it competes well with ADSL lines -- but gives you easy fax and phone sharing!
