128 Bit Encryption in the International Version of Netscape Communicator for OS/2Most all of the shipping versions of Netscape are capable of 128 bit Strong Encryption. However, due to US Export laws, the Strong Encryption Version cannot legally be exported outside the United States or Canada. There is, however, a legal way that you can have the 128 bit version of Netscape even if you don't live in North America. First, you have to download Netscape Communicator for OS/2. This works with Netscape 2.02 for OS/2 also Go to the IBM Software Choice Download Site and download Netscape 4.04 for OS/2. (You can also download Netscape 2.02 for OS/2 from this same site). This is the Standard Edition that is available to anybody worldwide. Once you have downloaded Netscape and installed it, the next step is download the patch that will enable the "Strong Encryption". Most ALL versions of Netscape Navigator (since version 2.02) are capable of Strong Encryption .... it's simply been disabled for the versions that are available internationally. Now, you just have to download theFortify Patch and install it, according to instructions, to Enable the 128 bit "Strong Encryption" in your copy of Netscape Navigator. Congratulations! You have now "Fortified" your copy of Netscape Navigator, and have not violated ANY US or International laws doing so.
