2005-09-24 ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: "Frank Wochatz" WorkPlaceCalendar (WPC) is an object which creates a calendar object on your desktop. The calendar object shows the day in object icon and a month calendar in object text. Further WPC supports: - german and english language, - display of weeks beginning with monday and sunday, - display of week days and week count of year - red icons for sundays. This is a test version. Screenshot: http://www.subsys.de/WPWeather/gif/wpcal.gif Download: http://www.subsys.de/WPWeather/download/wpcal03.zip There is no documentation yet. Just unzip and start the cmd file to create or update the object. Feel free to place a shadow in you start up folder, so the object will be updated at system start. To switch the week start from monday to sunday you have to edit a switch in the CMD file. regards Frank Wochatz Top
2005-09-24 ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: Paul Smedley Hi All, I've just compiled the latest (v1.10.1) version of wget for OS/2 & eComStation and added it to my website at http://smedley.info/os2ports.html For those that don't know, wget is a free software package for retrieving files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, the most widely-used Internet protocols. It is a non-interactive commandline tool, so it may easily be called from scripts, cron jobs, terminals without X-Windows support, etc. More information on wget is available from http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/wget.html For those that can't read the readme.os2 file, this build requires libc06r1.dll which can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/wvgui/libc06r1.zip Cheers, Paul. The current version is: 3.1.9 (April 6, 2005). A minor security change was posted for the 3.1.5 release. The program has been in service on UNIX systems since 1991 and is a popular alternative to the standard FTP program, /usr/bin/ftp. NcFTP offers many ease-of-use and performance enhancements over the stock ftp client, and runs on a wide variety of UNIX platforms as well as operating systems such Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X. If you have tried Firefox 1.5b1, and just can't go back to the 1.0.x version (hey, I'm with you), the problem is easily resolved. The following work around has been posted by Mozilla: 1. Type about:config into the address field and hit Enter. 2. In the Filter toolbar, type network.enableIDN. 3. Right click on the the network.enableIDN item and select toggle to change value to false. To verify the fix, be sure to restart the browser and then follow these steps. 1. Type about:config into the address field and hit Enter. 2. In the Filter toolbar, type network.enableIDN. 3. Ensure that the the value for this item is set to false.
