DFSee is a very powerful disk-utility with partitioning,

and NTFS, resizing, imaging and cloning.

For people familiar with older versions of DFSee (5.xx and older :-) it
will be good to know that the menu-system introduced in version 6, and
greatly expanded in version 7, makes the program a whole lot easier to
use!

SW: Thinkpad OSD utility version 1.04 released

2005-11-09

++ From the VOICE OS/2-eComStation News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: "Jan van Wijk"

For all Thinkpad users ...

PMTPOSD2 version 1.04 has been released today

It is an On Screen Display utility for Thinkpads to be used on an OS/2 or
eComStation desktop, it shows:

- Speaker volume setting and muting
- LCD screen brightness setting
- Monitor selection VGA/LCD/DUAL

Start it using a program object in the startup folder or through a 'start'
command in your STARTUP.CMD

The dialog pops up when a related BIOS field changes, usually because the
user operates a Thinkpad key ... After 3 seconds without changes, the
popup goes away

It is an OPEN SOURCE program, sources and a makefile for Openwatcom are
included.

This version adds usage info (pmtposd2 -?) as well as handling of the
=help and =quit keys while the dialog is showing.

It also accepts some optional parameters at startup to tune its behaviour
a bit, and has a nice ICON embedded for better appearance in the startup
folder :-)

From: "Sander Nyman"<2sanderDESPAM@DESPAMsbcglobal.net>

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 2 (official) has been released.
This release includes several fixes to the automated update system. since
1.5rc1, and is intended to ensure that there are no last-minute problems
with the Firefox 1.5 code.

Improvements over Firefox 1.0.x versions include an automated update
system to streamline product upgrades, faster Back and Forward navigation,
a feature for clearing private browsing data, drag-and-drop reordering of
browser tabs, a redesigned Options/Preferences window and better popup
blocking. Web standards support is also improved, with support for
Scalable Vector Graphics, JavaScript 1.6 and more CSS. Accessibility is
also better (including new DHTML accessibility features), security has
also been enhanced. Firefox's Extension System has been redesigned to make
extension upgrades cleaner (nothing left behind from previous versions).
This DOES break some current extensions, so if you use extensions, CHECK
FOR UPDATES. Extension authors are aware of this, and many extensions have
already been updated. By the time of the final 1.5 release, all
extensions should be updated.

You can download it here:

From: "Roderick Klein"

Mensys will be present with a booth at Warpstock again, this year in
Dresden, Germany. Come drop by and talk to us and other vendors,
usergroups and end users and developers!

You can see the eComStation 1.2R that was just released in English (other
languages like Italian, German, Dutch, Russian is being worked on). eCS
1.2R (refresh) is the first official release of an OS/2 based OS that
installs on an AMD Athlon 64/Semperon/Opteron CPU out of the box. With
support for the latest network cards, video cards and soundcards but also
many other improvements in installation proces and hardware support.

You will also get a chance to see the version of eComStation that is under
development for release next year. It has features like bootable JFS.
This offers great performance increase for OS/2 (the OS is already so
fast). But also ACPI support is included to better support modern
computers.

We will also be able to show you the possibility to easily resize your
Windows partition so you can install eCS next to your Windows
installation. This is especialy a easy when you get a preloaded computer.

We will also give a presentation to show you what is all happening and
what is going to happen after this version of eComStation.
