SW: Cairo Graphics library on OS/2 v1.2.2

2006-08-10
From: doodle@scenergy.dont.even.try.spamming.dfmk.hu

The OS/2 port of the Cairo 2D graphic library was updated to v1.2.2.

The source code package, the developer's package and the self-installing
runtime library is available from Netlabs FTP. They are currently in
/incoming, but soon will be moved to /pub/cairo.

This new release contains (in addition to an updated core Cairo code) a
new FontConfig library, which does not create fonts.cache files, but
stores its cache data in OS2.INI, thus, it should not interfere with
XFree86's FontConfig anymore.

Also available a package of updated Doodle's Screen Saver Cairo modules
that were recompiled to use this new Cairo runtime version.

Cairo v1.2.2 runtime, self-installing WarpIn archive:
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/cairo-1.2.2-os2-bin.exe

Updated Doodle's Screen Saver Cairo modules, self-installing WarpIn archive:

SW: DFSee version 8.05 released today

2006-08-12
++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++

From: Jan van Wijk

DFSee version 8.05 has been released today.

This version extends the powerful HEX/ASCII sector editor to work directly
on (binary) files as well, keeping the size the same.
>From the operating system level, just use a command like:

DFSOS2 edit somefile.bin

Cloning disks with bad-sectors is improved to allow MUCH faster operation,
and will be enhanced even more in the next versions.

Searching for files in most filesystems has been made a lot faster too,
using several enhancements to the FIND command.

Several smaller improvements like new menu-items have been made and a few
bugs and inconsistencies have been fixed ...

DFSee is a very powerful disk-utility with disk partitioning, filesystem
and disk analysis, file recovery, UNDELETE for HPFS, JFS, and NTFS,
resizing, imaging and cloning.
