Serenity Systems International and Mensys BV are pleased to announce the
availability of the WPS integration package for OpenOffice.org 2.0 for
eComStation and OS/2, version 1.0.1.
This package is available to all subcribers of the OpenOffice.org for
eComStation and OS/2 Support Agreement, via their login at the Mensys
online shop (under Your Downloads -> Support Agreement for OpenOffice.org)
** Features **
- Extends the WPS data file class to recognize OpenOffice.org document files
- Integrated support for WPS-Wizard hint and folder info area
- Rexx hooks for reading document properties
** Installation **
The package is provided as a WarpIn package. Installation is performed by a
double click on the base WPI file (OOoWPS101.wpi).
Please note that WarpIn 1.0.15 or higher is required.
You can download the latest WarpIn package from the download directory
under your Mensys account.
[ WPS data file class ]
The WPS classes do not require OpenOffice.org to be installed to allow
displaying of properties and preview thumbnail.
OpenOffice.org for eComstation and OS/2 must be installed to allow
drag'n'drop printing and opening of files. Use of the OpenOffice.org
quickstart feature allows faster printing and opening, otherwise a new
instance of the OpenOffice.org binaries will be invoked.
[ WPS-Wizard support ]
If you have installed WPS-Wizard (see below) please select the main
WPS-Wizard installation directory, otherwise scripts cannot be placed in
the proper place.

- Installation now properly detects and installs regardless of
when OpenOffice.org is or is not available on the system.
- This enables proper Drag and Drop printing and opening of documents
(when a valid installation is found)

Malmö, 1 December 2007: The board of the Swedish OS2 User Group
http://www.os2ug.se/ has decided to change its name to OS2 World Foundation
in order to formalise the organisation’s scope as well as become better
positioned to support the international community, according to an
announcement from Kim Haverblad, founder and webmaster of the Internet
site, OS2 World.Com. http://www.os2world.com/
The Swedish OS2 User Group was registered as a society in November 1991.
During the last 5 years, it has been active and financially supported the
Internet site, OS2 World.Com. Therefore, its founders are convinced that it
is most natural that these two communities should join and, furthermore, be
able to better support the OS2 community by forming the new OS2 World
Foundation.
The board said that it believes that national boundaries are obsolete due
to the internationalization that has resulted from utilisation of the
Internet. It has therefore chosen to place its entire efforts into online
activities of OS2 World.Com, such such features as:

* OS2 World.Com Bounty System
* OS2 World.Com Site Hosting
The statement from the board also emphasised that OS2 World Foundation will
be an international community that openly welcomes members from all
nationalities and languages.

The date of netlabs.org Developers Workshop has changed from May, 3-4th 2008 to
May 17-18th, 2008.
The netlabs.org Developers Workshop one again is the hotspot and place to
be to get all the latest news and insights into the development community
for the OS/2 and eComStation platform as well as for the Voyager Project.
The latter intends to build a successor to the current eComStation product.
This years workshop will be held in the brand new City Youth Hostel of the
city of Düsseldorf, Germany.
To make sure you get a room in the hostel we recommend you to register *as

Hi All,
Samba 3.0.27a is now available for OS/2 & eComStation.
Binaries for both the server, and also the NetDrive plugin are available
from http://svn.netlabs.org/samba
Packages of the server are available both as zip file and as WarpIN
installer package, which also comes with the latest set of scripts and
utilities.
Changelog for the server is:
- Updated from 3.0.26a to 3.0.27a source
- Fixed an EA writing problem
- Enabled Kerberos/LDAP support

NOTE: To have both Firefox, & Thunderbird in use at the same time (or ANY
other Mozilla app) they *MUST* be at the SAME version level, or a
mismatched DLL will still be in memory when you attempt to start a second

The initial release of FileStar/2, v3.00.00, had an anomaly in that if the
program was installed in the month of December, it caused an immediate
disablement of drag-n-drop and directory operations when run without a key.
The error that caused it was found and fixed in pre-release final tests but
the corrected file was not included in the final FS/2 build. FlexEdit is
not affected since the it was built with the correct file.
This has been fixed in FS/2 v3.00.01 which is now available for download.
For those that have experienced this problem in a FS/2 trial evaluation,
please re-download and give it another trial. Users with keys are not affected.
