2008-04-08 ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: Brendan Oakley The Universal Audio Driver for eComStation and OS/2. The Uniaud Team announces the release of Uniaud 1.1.4RC6. Download: ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/uniaud/uniaud114RC6.zip Changes since 1.1.4RC5: * Added ACPI support to Uniaud32. * Fixed default sample rate selection in Uniaud16 (caused silence on NVidia AC'97 and other quirks) All users of Uniaud are encouraged to upgrade to this latest Uniaud16. This is the most stable Uniaud16 to date, and is expected to work well with all supported hardware. This Uniaud32 is intended to test the effects of having added ACPI support. Some users may need to continue to use Uniaud32 RC5 if this gives problems. We would like users to provide us feedback on this ACPI support and discuss the results on the uniaud-user list. HDA users will want to continue to test the 1.9.x series of Uniaud32 builds from Paul Smedley and not bother with this Uniaud32. For such users this package is useful for installing Uniaud if it is not yet installed, and for acquiring the latest Uniaud16. A news group for users is at http://news.gmane.org/gmane.org.netlabs.uniaud.general A mail list for users can be subscribed to with an email to uniaud-user-subscribe@netlabs.org Problem reports can be made (login required) and existing ones viewed at http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud/report The Uniaud Team Top

There will no longer be any future versions of SNAP Graphics available from SciTech. If you would like to use the latest SciTech release on your computer, it is still available from the SciTech web site: http://www.scitechsoft.com/ftp/snap/os2/snap-os2-3.1.8.exe There is also a free registration code you may use to unlock the product, see this file for details: http://www.scitechsoft.com/ftp/snap/os2/free-reg-code.txt If you are interested in assisting with an open source release, you may subscribe to the OpenSNAP mailing list; please note that this list is not intended for interested end users. http://list.scitechsoft.com/mailman/listinfo/opensnap Top

2008-04-09 ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: Peter Weilbacher I have finally found time to build the 5th (and last) beta of Firefox 3. It should appear linked from http://www.mozilla.org/ports/os2/ soon.[*] Note that the ReadMe linked there lists the major problems of the OS/2 version (again, that list didn't get much shorter than for beta 4). The few OS/2 specific improvements since 3.0 beta 4: - Finally make bookmark tooltips and popups appear in front of the bookmarks menu (thanks go to Stefan Schmohl!). - Some improvements to the default theme on OS/2 (by Walter Meinl). - Reduce the download and on-disk size a little bit by packaging only necessary theme graphics and strip all binaries. - Allow RWS to be switched off. - In principle allow plugin content to be printed, but no OS/2 plugins seem to support this. Please report bugs via Bugzilla. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Please post comments to the mozilla.dev.ports.os2 newsgroup (on news://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.dev.ports.os2 ).
