2008-06-30 ++ From the VOICE OS/2-eCS News Service http://www.os2voice.org ++ From: Mark Dodel Paul Smedley has created a CUPS Port Driver for eCS and OS/2. This allows printing to a CUPS server. http://www.smedley.info/os2ports/ For more information on CUPS see http://svn.netlabs.org/ecups/wiki/WikiStart Download from http://download.smedley.info/cupsportdriver-20080628.zip Unzip and put cups.pdr into x:\os2\dll and cupslpr.exe into x:\tcpip\bin - also needs libc064x.dll from http://download.smedley.info/libc064x.zip Go to printer object, install new port - specify x:\os2\dll and choose CUPS1 (if it's the first CUPS printer being added) Specify the hostname/IP of the CUPS server and the name of the print queue on that print server Try printing a file using pscript.drv with the appropriate PPD file imported into it! Please let Paul know if you find this software useful. He needs user feedback to continue work on these projects. He maintains a bug tracker for many projects at http://mantis.smedley.info It just requires a simple registration. If you'd like to help support continued development of this project (and many others) for OS/2 & eComStation, please consider making a donation either via Paypal using the link on Paul's website, or using the Mensys Online Store http://www.mensys.net/os2ports/ Top
